By accessing and using LalaAfrica ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.

2. Use of Service

LalaAfrica provides an online marketplace connecting guests with accommodation providers across Africa. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

• You must be at least 18 years old to make bookings
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information
• You will not use the platform for fraudulent activities

3. Bookings and Payments

When you make a booking through LalaAfrica:

• You enter into a contract directly with the property owner/manager
• Prices are displayed in the selected currency and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise
• Payment methods include credit cards, mobile money, and other approved payment gateways
• A booking confirmation will be sent to your registered email and phone number
• Deposits and payment schedules vary by property and are clearly stated during booking

4. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation policies vary by property. Please review the specific cancellation policy before booking:

• Flexible: Free cancellation up to 24 hours before check-in
• Moderate: Free cancellation up to 5 days before check-in
• Strict: 50% refund if cancelled more than 7 days before check-in
• Super Strict: No refunds for cancellations

Refunds are processed within 7-14 business days to the original payment method.

5. User Responsibilities

As a guest, you agree to:

• Treat properties with respect and follow house rules
• Report any issues or damages immediately
• Leave properties in the same condition as found
• Be liable for any damages caused during your stay
• Provide accurate guest information and comply with local regulations

6. Property Owner Responsibilities

Property owners/partners agree to:

• Provide accurate property information and images
• Honor confirmed bookings and maintain property standards
• Comply with local laws and regulations
• Pay agreed commission fees to LalaAfrica
• Respond to guest inquiries within 24 hours
• Confirm guest check-ins as required by the platform

7. Commission and Fees

LalaAfrica charges a commission of 15-20% on each booking (varies by property type and location). This commission is deducted from the property owner's payout. Service fees may apply to guests for certain payment methods.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on LalaAfrica, including logos, text, images, and software, is the property of LalaAfrica or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

LalaAfrica acts as a marketplace connecting guests and property owners. We are not responsible for:

• The condition, quality, or safety of properties
• Actions or omissions of property owners or guests
• Loss or damage to personal belongings
• Disputes between guests and property owners
• Force majeure events affecting bookings

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of LalaAfrica is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

11. Modifications to Terms

LalaAfrica reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notifications. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania and Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania or Kenya.
